Spinach fry recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch spinach
  • 1/2 cup toor dal
  • 1-2 red chillies, broken into half
  • 2 garlic flakes, roughly crushed
  • a pinch of turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp urad dal
  • 1/2 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste

Cooking Instructions

Clean, wash and chop the spinach and keep aside.

Cook toor dal with required amount of water.

Make sure that the dal is not cooked too soft or mushy.

Now heat a pan with oil and add white dal and crushed garlic flakes.

Saute till they turn into light golden yellow colour.

Add broken red chillies and turmeric powder and saute for a min.

Add chopped spinach and required quantity of salt.

Mix well and close with a lid.

Cook on low flame for 5-8 mins or till the spinach become tender.

Then add cooked toor dal and cook for another 2 mins.

Finally adjust salt and remove from flame.

Serve hot with sambar, Rasam, curd, etc...
