potatoes with Mustard Seeds recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1 medium onion sliced thin
  • 1 teaspoon channa dal
  • 1 teaspoon white urad dal
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  • few curry leaves
  • 1/4 minced green chili (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • salt to taste

Cooking Instructions

Heat oil. Add mustard seed, dal, onions and curry leaves, chili and fry.

Fry for about 5 minutes on medium heat or/until onions are translucent

Add potatoes and salt and turmeric. Steam till potatoes are done.
