Wash the Dal under water. Soak the Dal in water for almost 15 mns
Take the Dal and boil it in full five cups of water. Keep boiling till it is cooked, but care needs to be taken that it does not become paste.
Take oil in a pan and to this add bay leaf, cumin seeds, and cloves. Allow these to splutter.
To this add Onion, ginger and green chili. Keep frying them till it becomes brown in color.
To this add tomato and keep frying it till it appears soft. Add all the dry Masala (Chili powder, turmeric powder and salt). Keep frying this for a minute
To this add the boiled Dal and Lemon juice. Gently mix them
Garnish it with Garam Masala and coriander leaves.
