Vegetable Manchurian recipe


  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Cabbage (grated):- 2 cups
  • Ajinomoto:-A pinch
  • Carrots (grated):- 2 cups
  • Sugar:- 1 tsp
  • Spring Onion (chopped):-1 No.
  • Pepper powder:-1 tsp
  • Green chillies (chopped):- 2Nos.
  • Salt :- as per taste
  • Garlic flakes (crushed):- 3-4
  • Soya sauce :-1 tbsp
  • Corn Flour:-2 tbsp
  • Oil:-to deep fry

Cooking Instructions

Mix together grated carrots and cabbage. Squeeze as much water from them as possible.

Add 1 tbsp corn starch, salt and some chopped chillies.

Make small rounds or koftas from this mixture

Deep fry these balls in a wok. Drain excess oil and keep them aside.

In another pan, heat about 2 tablespoons oil. Then sauté spring onions, garlic and green chillies in it.

Add Ajinomoto, soya sauce, pepper, salt, water and sugar. Bring this to a boil.

Make slurry with 1 tbsp corn flour and half cup water. Add this to the boiling sauce.

Gradually add fried koftas/ balls to this gravy.

Let this cook for about 3-4 mins.

Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve very hot.
