Jowar Roti recipe


  • 1 cup Jowar (Barley)
  • 1/4 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 4 garlic pods chopped finely
  • 1 green chilli chopped finely
  • Salt,to taste
  • water as needed

Cooking Instructions

Mix Jowari, wheat flour, salt, chopped garlic pods,green chilli with water.Please add water little by little. Knead nicely into a soft dough otherwise it will crack.

Divide the dough into 5 equal balls.Sprinkle jowari flour on the platform & place the ball. Pat it with your palm.

Dough should not stick to the platform it should move easily.

Dust the jowari flour again and make it to sound shape like roti of medium size not very thin.

Preheat the tawa and place the roti and sprinkle water on it.

Cook one side till brown spots appears and will take some time to cook. keep the other side on direct flame.It will puff.
Jowari roti is ready.

serve hot with Pitlai or tridali dal or baingan bartha or butter and spring onion.
