Fresh Tomato Sandwiches recipe


  • 8 slices soft fresh white bread
  • 4 large fresh tomatoes, sliced (1/4 inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1 large white onion, sliced (1/4 inch thick)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh chives, snipped in small pieces (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Slice the tomatoes, onions and chives (if using).

Spread the butter on 4 slices of bread.

Top this bread with the onions, tomatoes and chives (if using).

Top with other 4 slices of bread, and lightly but firmly press the top bread onto the tomato topped bread.

Slice in half, diagonally, and serve immediately.
