Kofta Platter recipe


  • For Kofta:
  • Mince 500gm
  • Green chilies 8 (ground)
  • Coriander leaves 3tbsp (chopped)
  • Salt 1tsp heaped
  • Ginger garlic paste 1tsp heaped
  • Bread 2 slices (soaked in ¼ cup milk)
  • Egg 1
  • Gram flour 2tbsp
  • All spice 1tsp
  • Black pepper ½tsp heaped
  • Cumin 1tsp (roasted and crushed)
  • Coriander 1tsp (roasted and crushed)
  • Oil for frying
  • For Rice:
  • Rice ½kg (soaked for 15 minutes)
  • Oil ¼ cup
  • Mixed whole spices 1tbsp
  • Salt 1½ tsp
  • Water 3 cup
  • For Tomato Gravy:
  • Ketchup ½ cup
  • Tomato paste ½ cup
  • Chili powder 1 tsp
  • All spice ½ tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Black pepper ½ tsp
  • Water 2 cup
  • Coriander leaves 2tbsp (chopped)
  • Green chilies 2 (chopped)
  • Corn flour 2tbsp

Cooking Instructions

For Kofta:
Marinate mince with green chilies, coriander leaves, salt, ginger garlic paste, bread slices, egg, gram flour, all spice, black pepper, cumin and coriander and leave it for 30 minutes.

Make into small koftas.

Fry in oil and keep aside.

For Rice:
Heat oil add rice fry for 2 minutes.

Add whole spices, salt and water, cover and cook till rice done, remove and keep aside.

For Tomato Gravy:
Mix all the ingredients ketchup, tomato paste, chili powder, all spice, salt, black pepper, water, coriander leaves and green chilies.

Mix in a pan except corn flour and then cook it.

When mixture boiling then add dissolved corn flour paste, cook till thick and remove.

To Serve:
In a rice dish arrange a rice layer then kofta layer.

Spread with prepared tomato gravy.

Serve hot and garnished with chopped coriander and green chilies.
