Bohri Khichri recipe

Ingredients

  • Rice 2 cups
  • Pigeon lentils 1 cup
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Crushed cumin 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Chopped onion 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped green chilies 8
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Chopped tomatoes 4
  • Mint leaves ½ bunch
  • Green coriander ½ bunch
  • Clarified butter/ oil1 cup

Cooking Instructions

Wash and soak 2 cups of rice. Wash and boil 1 cup pigeon lentil. Once boiled drain the water.

Take a pan, and add in 1 cup oil. Add in 2 chopped onions and fry it till they are golden brown.

Then add in 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 4 chopped tomatoes, 8 chopped green chilies, 1 tsp turmeric and 1 tsp white cumin. Cook it.

Add in rice and gram lentil. Cook it and then add in 2 – 2 ½ cup of water.

Add in some salt and chopped green chilies. cover the pan and cook.

When the water dries, simmer it. Garnish it with green chilies, ½ bunch mint leaves, ½ bunch green coriander and serve.
