Soak 2 – 2 ½ cups of rice. Take 1 cup oil in the pan and add in 4 chopped onion till they are golden brown. Take it out and dry it.
Then add in chicken pieces, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1 cup yogurt and some salt. Grind together red whole chilies and green chilies.
When the water of the chicken dries, add in ½ onion, whole green chilies and red chilies. cook it. Add in lemon juice and 1 tsp crushed black pepper.
Boil the rice separately along with salt, mint leaves, green chilies, 5 black peppercorn and 4 small cardamom and drain the water.
Grease a pan and layer the rice at the bottom, add chicken on the top. Add on more rice on the top.
Mix some yellow food color with milk and add in on it. Add in mint leaves and lemon juice. Simmer, dish it out and serve.
